The world is what you think it is. Every human being develops their own belief system, their own corresponding reality and their own consequential state of consciousness. This means that disagreement with others is the default state for every human being, until they discover how to create agreement.
Mutually held fear based emotions, the need for societal compliances and so called scientific explanations provide expedient forms of pseudo agreement, but there is no genuine freedom for the individual to love and to discover truth for them selves unless they are able to monitor their own belief system and to use universal principles to re-structure those beliefs along ways that are inherently appropriate for the whole of creation.
Universal Principles provide the basis for editing belief systems and bringing them into alignment with genuinely unconditional love and absolute truth. All religions, philosophies and sciences need to re-aligned in this way.
This web site and this web page in particular provides an introduction to the subject of universal principle, giving examples of different ways of expressing universal principle, as variously presented by John Lester, by religions and philosophies, by Arnold Patent and by Neuro Linguistic Programming. There are countless ways of expressing them. They are all basically expressing the same Universal Principles.
WHAT IS A UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLE?
A universal principle is a supposition that always applies, and to which no exception is to be found. Due to the general self centred state of human consciousness, there will still be arguments about whether a supposition is actually universal. This is because the main reason for being on Earth is to become self contained but not isolated individuals. Agreement between all individuals is essential, but not at the expense of personal freedom.
For true individuality to occur we each need to identify truth for ourselves and that is only achieved through the individual’s own creation of their own beliefs and through discussing them with loving and trustworthy others until complete agreement is achieved. This does not result in forced mutual dependency, but rather in mutually advantageous interdependency.
Mutually loving and trustworthy diversity within the unity of The Cosmos will thus be achieved. Discussing such matters with unloving or untrustworthy others only leads to confusion for all involved.
I suggest that UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLE needs to address all three elements of the human condition. These are:
THE BODY (The material and instinctual world of our relationships with Earth, Water & Fire and with Physicality, Security & Relationships)
THE HEART (The perceptual and emotional world of our relationships with Air, with Attitudes and Feelings and with Self Worth, Self Love, Self Confidence, Self Esteem and Self Image)
THE MIND (The conceptual and intellectual world of our relationships with Communication, with Inspiration, Creativity and Self Realisation and with completion of the Soul, all in alignment with Spirit)
Spirit is the same as Universal Principle and Natural Law. It is essential that all three aspects of the human condition are contemplated, experienced and aligned with each other in order to achieve a balanced Belief System, a Truth Based Reality and Aware-Will-Consciousness. Love is basically a maximised appreciation of Spirit. It is the Christ Energy. Nothing especially to do with Jesus of Nazareth, except possibly that he first discovered how it works.
My own way of presenting Universal Principles tends to reflect a down no earth “body” (instinct) & “head” (intellectual) point of view. I focus especially upon the lower chakra energies, up to and including the heart, but also recognise the senior importance of the esteeming (heart) and higher chakra energies relating to communications, inspiration, creativity and eventual life mastery. My approach does not EXCLUDE the heart, but the heart energies are more effectively understood and addressed through the use of Arnold Patent’s “feeling” approach than by my own over intellectual approach.
Arnold Patent’s Universal Principles mainly emphasise the “body” & "heart". Minimally intellectual, they provide an excellent basis for the creation of mutual support groups that meet, generally, in each others homes on a regular basis, with a fixed agenda that results in increased well being for all involved.
The Levels of Manifestation
Principle, manifested in Consciousness, is the highest level of manifestation.
Physicality, also first manifested in consciousness, and only eventually as the physicality of matter, energy, space and time, is the next level of manifestation.
Belief System explanations of Principle and Physicality provide the next level of manifestation. Unless every belief is verified against Principle, it becomes a trap of expedience, in which everything connected with it becomes stuck, irreversible, apparently unchanging. This is the level of manifestation at which the illusion of self is created, and also the level at which appreciation of individual uniqueness is also manifested. But one cannot experience one’s individuality if one has beliefs created by others and not fully experienced as certainties by the believer. Belief system creation is a balancing process.
Ego (Positive and negative) is the lowest and most unchangeable level of manifestation, apart from physical death, in which case only the un-manifested residue of aware-will-consciousness remains. Unless the being has, during their life time, aligned their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual existence, there will be residual karma that remains to be handled. Only reincarnation as a past, present, parallel or future entity will allow the karma to be resolved and the ultimate state of “aware-will-consciousness”, “completed soul” or “fully spiritualised individualised being” be attained.
All the natural laws discovered by the scientists are approximations to universal principle.
All physical, emotional, mental and spiritual phenomena operate in observable accordance with universal principle.
All philosophies, religions, sciences and other belief systems are valuable but flawed attempts to describe universal principle, usually not commanding universal agreement due to their being established for one particular time, place, individual, group or particular circumstance. The number of years they survive is a probable indication of their closeness to universal principle. So don’t knock Christianity and Paganism.
Universal principles are the most experientially real phenomena in the universe. To be able to define universal principles as they really are is to assume the viewpoint of The Creator. It just isn’t possible to define them perfectly, but the closer we can get to the truth of The Creator’s viewpoint, the more effective our attempts to define universal principles will be.
Universal principles will most certainly never be very closely approximated as long as their application to all phenomena is incomplete. This means that universal principles must be proven to apply to all levels of consciousness, from that of sub atomic particles right up to the workings of The Cosmos. Contemplative experience working in harmony with Science is the main method by which the entire purpose of evolution (the manifestation of The Creator as our individualised selves in the physical universe) will eventually be achieved
The most important supposition on which the entirety of universal principle depend is the concept that everything is created out of “The Void”. In other words out of nothing. The void is assumed to become polarised, with each polarised aspect then polarised again and again until all of the pre requisites for the specification of principles and the evolution of physicality out of consciousness are available.
Manifested Principle is the polar opposite of Un-manifested Principle. Together they constitute the void. When the void is polarised it splits into the manifested and un-manifested beginnings of aware-will-consciousness, with aware-polarised from consciousness. Resolving the polarisation leads to empowerment.
UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES AS DEFINED BY RELIGIONS GENERALLY
The Universe is perfectly balanced by natural and moral laws with regulatory vibrations to maintain order, when you work within the laws you can be assured of an eventual positive outcome. When the laws are transgressed you can be assured of suffering; the only purpose of this is to teach you a better way.
The Law of Harmony. This law supersedes even the fundamental law of Karma, for harmony is the supreme potential of balance. The purpose of Karma is to attain harmony. If you throw a rock into a pond you disturb the harmony of the pond, you are the cause, the effect is the splash and the ripples that flow out and back until harmony is restored. Similarly, your disharmonious actions flow out into the Universe and flow back upon you, lifetime after life time, until eventually your own harmony is restored.
The Law of Reincarnation and Karma. Until you have resolved your Karma and fulfilled your Dharma, which are the deeds you must do, you will continue to reincarnate into sequential lifetimes upon the earth. Neither God nor the Lords of Karma bestow suffering upon you during these lives, you and you alone decide what you most need to learn and in your earthly sojourns, and for each life experience, you seek out other souls, often with shared histories, and always with Karmic configurations matching your needs. Whenever you act with intention you create Karma. Actions are considered to be thoughts, emotions, words and deeds, and the motive, desire and intent behind each. Disharmonious acts must be balanced in the future in this life or in a future lifetime, to have Soul growth.
The Law of Wisdom, wisdom erases Karma. If you have the wisdom to learn your lessons through love and wisdom you can mitigate your suffering. Sadly, we seem to learn the fastest through pain, through directly experiencing the consequences of our actions. As an example, you greedily take from others, and instead of learning through wisdom and love that this is wrong, you have to experience from others someone greedily taking from you, whether later in this life or in a future lifetime.
Example 1: In your last life you were married to a Soul who is your mate today, and whom you cruelly left for another in that previous lifetime. Before you were born into your current life, you may have agreed to be left by your mate, under similar circumstances—in order to allow you to balance your Karma—and directly experience the pain of abandonment. If through the wisdom of Life Mastery Awareness it is easier to detach consciously from the relationship with love, you will ease the pain of parting while also passing your own test, and thus absolving Karma and evolving from within.
Example 2. Assume that you have Astrologically destined a severe relationship test for May of your 35th year. If you have learned through past life awareness, as well as present life learning, to be positive, non-judgmental and without expectations in your relationship you may only experience an argument with your mate on that fateful day in May, but if you haven't learned your past lessons, and have intensified your disharmony during your relationship you might experience a divorce in may of your 35th year.
The Law of Grace. Karma can be experienced to the letter of the law or in mercy and grace. In other words if you give love, mercy and grace to others, you will receive the same in return.
The Law of Soul Evolution. Everyone on Earth shares the goal of Soul evolution whether they realize it or not. We have reincarnated because we desire to evolve spiritually. By rising above all of our fear based emotions and in so doing learning how to express unconditional love we raise our vibrational rate, and move closer to a state of harmony. Even where it appears that we are not evolving we are in reality making progress. We learn through the pain of our disharmonious acts, which can be viewed as our mistakes or failures. This is the law of Soul evolution.
The Law of Bodhisattva. Bodhisattva is a Sanskrit term commonly accepted by most Metaphysical adepts today. It means one who has transcended the need of Earthly incarnations but who has chosen to return to the earth to support others in achieving enlightenment. A Bodhisattva knows he will never really be free until all souls are free. Most serious students of metaphysics have entered the Bodhisattva Development Stage of their evolution.
The Law of Vibrational Attainment. The entire Universe operates on the same principle of vibrational energy. When Einstein discovered that "matter is energy." he opened the door to merging science and metaphysics. The scientists have proved that energy cannot die, it can only transform (reincarnate), and, by its very nature, energy must go forward or backwards, it cannot stand still, for to do so is stagnation, resulting in transformation. You are energy. Your skin, which appears solid, is actually trillions of swiftly moving molecules orbiting each other at a specific vibrational rate; a physical life rate you have earned in the past as a result of how harmoniously—or disharmoniously you have lived your past lives and your current life up until this moment in time. When you are harmonious for a lifetime, you will have attained the highest vibrational rate—the God level.
The Law of Free Will. The law of free will operates in three ways.
Although many of the major events in your life are Astrologically predestined, you always have free will to mitigate the impact of the event, or to transcend it entirely. This results from how you live your life up to the situation you have destined for yourself to experience. If you give grace and mercy to others, are positive, loving, compassionate, and demonstrate by your action that you have learned past lessons, you can minimize disharmonious experiences!
As you obtain Life Mastery awareness and develop conscious detachment, you will be far less affected by worldly events than in the past. A Life Master enjoys all the warmth and joy that life has to offer, but detaches from the negativity by allowing it to flow through him without affecting him.
You always have free will in how you respond to any situation. If you respond with positive emotions, compassion and integrity, you have probably learned your karmic lessons and will not have to experience a similar situation in the future.
The Law of One. Every Soul, living and discarnate, is connected at the level of the collective unconscious, deep within the Higher-Self. We are all part of a great energy gestalt called God, and because we are part of God, we are God. It is the goal of the gestalt to move the energy forward, creating more energy. So, in living harmoniously, we each increase our vibrational rate and intensify the vibration of the entire gestalt. When we are disharmonious, we decrease the vibration of the entire gestalt, because we are one, everything you think, say and do, effects every other Soul.
The Law of Manifestation. Everything that manifests, begins as a thought, an idea. Ideas and experiences create beliefs which in turn, create your reality. If you are unhappy with your current reality, you must change your beliefs and your behaviour. Beliefs can be changed when you recognize those that are not working for you, and begin programming what will create success and harmony in your life. The unlimited creative power of your mind, through dedication, awareness and training, can be the wisdom to rise above your Karma. Within physical and spiritual laws, you can manifest any reality you desire to experience. In regard to changing your behaviour, you must decide which disharmonious behaviour you want to eliminate. Then be aware that you don't have to change how you feel about something to affect it, if you are willing to change what you are doing.
The Law of Conscious Detachment. Buddha's earthly teachings are best summarized with one of his statements, "It is your resistance to what is that causes your suffering." and by suffering, he meant everything that doesn't work in your life; relationship problems, loss of loved ones, loneliness, sickness, accidents, guilt, monetary hardship, unfulfilled desires, and so on. When you accept what is, you accept the unalterable realities in your life without resisting them. Some things are facts. They exist, and no matter how much you resist them, there is nothing you are going to be able to do about them. Change what you can change, but have the wisdom to accept unalterable situations as they are, without wasting mental or physical energy attempting to change what you cannot change. Out of acceptance comes involved detachment. The ability to enjoy all the positive aspects of life, but to allow the negative to flow through you with out resistance and without affecting you.
The Law of Gratitude. From the perspective of Karma and the Law of One, the more you give, the more you will receive. The more you assist others, the more you will assist yourself. The power of this Law also works in your day-to-day life.
The Law of Fellowship. When two or more people of similar vibration are gathered for a shared purpose, their combined energy directed to the attainment of that purpose is doubled, tripled, quadrupled or more. This esoteric awareness has been used by covens, esoteric religions, healing groups, and recently, worldwide meditations for world peace.
The Law of Resistance. That which you resist you draw to you, and you will perpetuate its influence upon your life. Resistance is fear, so it is something you need to Karmically resolve. The Law of Resistance assures that you let go of the fear by encountering it until you are forced to deal with it by learning conscious detachment.
Example: You may have a strong resistance toward people of the Asian race; Black race, Jewish race, your mother-in-law. Your resistance is fear. The quickest way to overcome that which you fear is through direct experience, thus you will reincarnate as an Asian, Black, Jew, or mother in-law in a future lifetime. When you attain Life Mastery awareness and stop resisting [your fear] by consciously detaching from the negativity, the problem will be resolved. Most disharmonious situations are solved through a change in your viewpoint. By changing your perspective, you can usually eliminate the effects of a problem, and if you are no longer affected by a problem, you no longer have a problem, although nothing about the problem situation may have changed. Another aspect of the Law of resistance states, that which you resists, you become, if not in this lifetime, in a future incarnation.
The Law of Attraction. "Where your attention goes, your energy flows." You attract what you are and that which you concentrate upon. If you are negative, you draw in and experience negativity. If you are loving, you draw in and experience love. You can attract to you only those qualities you possess. So, if you want peace and harmony in your life, you must become peaceful and harmonious.
The Law of Reflection. This Law says that the traits you respond to in others, you recognize in yourself, both positive and negative. It has four primary manifestations:
That which you admire in others, you recognize as existing within yourself;
That which you resist and react to strongly in others is sure to be found within yourself;
That which you resist and react to in others is something which you are afraid exists within you; and,
That which you resist in yourself, you will dislike in others.
In other words, you have chosen to incarnate upon the manifest plane to learn to rise above the effect of fear. Those fears will always be reflected in your reactions to others, Thus your goals are very obvious once you recognize how to perceive them. As you let go of the fear, you automatically open to expressing more unconditional love.
The Law of Unconditional Love. The expression of unconditional love will eventually result in harmony. Unconditional love is not romantic love. It is the acceptance of others as they are without judgment or expectations. It is total acceptance of others without attempting to change them, except by our own positive example. The law of unconditional love says, "If you go out of your way to express unconditional love, you automatically rise above fear, and, as you transcend your fears, you automatically open to the expression of unconditional love.
The Law of Magnetic Affinities. By Astrologically choosing the time and place of your birth, you determine the nature or the effects you will experience in your life. On the other side, before we are born, we make decisions about the lifetime we will be entering into. You chose your parents, other souls to interact with you, and the Astrological configurations of your birth which determine your character, personality, abilities, restrictions, and timing for strengths and weaknesses. If all of this seems too complicated to be real, be aware that you are only using five to ten percent of the capacity of your brain. And the brain-mind researchers say the human brain has 200,000 times the capacity of the greatest computer ever built. Such calculations as I've just described would be no problem for such a computer.
The Law of Abundance. You have within yourself everything required to make your earthly incarnation a paradise if you choose to accept that which is your divine birth-right. We live in a Universe of abundance, although the majority of those populating our planet appear to view it as a Universe of scarcity.
The Law of Divine Order, If you seek to understand the Law of Divine Order, study the natural balance of nature, for it works very much the same way. Everything is as it should be, although mankind (our energy gestalt) is far from experiencing its potential of total harmony. There are no accidents. Your energy, translated into thoughts, words, emotions, and deeds, causes all your experiences. This assures that you always have the learning opportunities you require to resolve your Karma, and, as with you, the collective thoughts, words, emotions, and deeds of mankind create the environment for us all. If enough souls focus their energy upon peace, we will have peace. If the majority of souls are filled with anger, we may all have to experience war. We are all one, and like the many sub-personalities within you, the dominant traits of mankind (the entire gestalt) will emerge to resolve our group Karma.
At this moment, a born-again Christian evangelist preaches fear from a pulpit in West Virginia while a yoga instructor directs a loving group meditation in Oregon. One is directing the energy of the gestalt into dis-harmony, the other into harmony. Hopefully, at least one can cancel out the other. If we can't attain harmony, maybe we can balance the disharmony. Certainly, as New Ager's, we must not give up, individually or collective. As always, fear is the problem and love is the answer. Your resistance to what is causes your suffering. That's it. It's very simple. There are no exemptions.
UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES AS DEFINED BY ARNOLD PATENT:
The basic component of the Universe, energy, occurs in either materialized or un-materialized form. All that we see and feel is an expression of energy. Energy is synonymous with love. When we resist the flow of energy, or love, we experience discomfort. When we align with the energy flowing around us, we feel joyful and at peace.
2. Infinite Intelligence
Within all energy is an intelligence that is infinite, eternal and purposeful. This Infinite Intelligence, which some refer to as God or Love, is the source of all creative expression and the essential power in the Universe. The way we view Infinite Intelligence is precisely the way we experience life. When we perceive Infinite Intelligence as an unconditionally loving and supportive energy at all times and under all circumstances, we experience our world and everyone in it as totally safe, loving and generous.
Since the essence of everything is pure loving energy, in the truest sense, we are one. When we feel our connection to our Oneness, we feel the power of who we really are. Our Oneness, love, is indivisible, and thus it is not possible to love one thing or person more than another. Whenever we attempt to withhold love from anyone, we withhold love from everyone, including ourselves. The truth of this principle becomes clear to us as we allow our hearts to open and feel our interconnectedness.
Our Oneness, Infinite Intelligence, is perfect and expresses this perfection in infinite ways. As human beings, we are created, and we function, perfectly just the way we are. When someone or something appears to be less than perfect, we know that we have chosen to feel disconnected from our Oneness. We feel connected when our hearts are open. When our hearts are open wide, we see and feel the perfection of everything.
5. Cause and Effect
Contrary to what we have been taught, we are not at the effect of the circumstances in our lives. We are the creators of these circumstances. And we create these circumstances with great purposefulness. The creation occurs at two levels. At one level, cause is put into motion by our Infinite Intelligence. We create at this level when we are in a state of peacefulness and when we trust our Infinite Intelligence to guide and support us. At another level, cause is set in motion by our thinking minds. What we believe creates our experiences.
6. Free Will
We each have to freedom to choose in each moment. We can choose for ourselves, but not for others. When we allow others to choose for us, we withdraw our trust in ourselves to make choices. Accepting the choice another makes for us is our choice. When we consciously choose to let Infinite Intelligence guide us, our lives unfold in effortless and magnificent ways.
7. Beliefs and Illusions
Our beliefs -- both conscious and unconscious -- determine our experiences. We can recognize what we believe by noticing the experiences in which we find ourselves. Our beliefs are illusions; they are not real. By quieting our minds and focusing our awareness on what is real -- our Oneness -- we move beyond our illusory beliefs and experience the inherent perfection of the Universe.
8. Intuition, Feelings and Power
Our Infinite Intelligence communicates to us through our intuition, which we access through our feelings. The more willing we are to feel our feelings, the more able we are to connect with the power that resides in them. The true power in the Universe is a totally peaceful power. It is the power of love, fully, freely and joyfully felt.
9. Mutual Support
Our Universe functions as a mutual support system in which each and every thing in existence relates to and affects every other thing. Every person and circumstance in our lives is there to support us by reflecting back to us the present state of our consciousness. Despite the prevalent belief that we are naturally competitive and adversarial, we always have the choice to create environments that are harmonious, nurturing and mutually supportive. Choosing to join with others who share a commitment to living in mutual support is both self-loving and empowering.
10. The Mirror Principle
Everything that we see and feel is a reflection of the state of our own consciousness. Every person we attract into our lives is showing us some aspect of who we are. Every feeling expressed by another mirrors a feeling deep within us. This reflection is a gift, for it allows us to be aware of the beliefs we hold. We then have the choice to reclaim the power we have vested in our beliefs.
11. Non-judgment and Forgiveness
We have been carefully taught to evaluate and judge virtually everything we experience. However, there is no such thing as right or wrong, good or bad. Everything that occurs is just another event. By judging something, it becomes for us the way we judge it, and it stays that way until we release the judgment. Judging anyone or anything as being less than perfect blocks our ability to respond to the essence of the person or thing and creates discomfort within us that can only be relieved by opening our hearts, first to the judgment and then to the person or thing that we have judged. Forgiveness is the willingness to open the energy locked up in our judgments. Opening our hearts allows forgiveness to expand into unconditional love.
Everything and every one in the Universe has a purpose for existing. As we each become aware of our life's purpose, we increase our sense of belonging and see the deeper meaning of our lives. We become aware of our purpose by opening our hearts and feeling our Oneness. When we allow the inspiration of our life's purpose to fill our being, we find that our lives unfold in inspired, fulfilling ways.
13. Comfort and Discomfort
Our human bodies are magnificent instruments that tell us at all times just how aligned we are with the energy flowing around and through us. Discomfort in our bodies is a signal that we are resisting the flow of energy, or love. The greater the discomfort, the more we know that we are resisting the giving and receiving of love. As soon as we notice discomfort, whether physical, mental or emotional, we best support ourselves by focusing our awareness on our feelings, feeling them fully, and then feeling love for them and for ourselves. When we allow love to flow freely, our bodies reflect this free flow of energy.
14. Abundance and Gratitude
Abundance is the natural state of the Universe. It is the free flow of energy, which is literally all around us, in infinite supply, and available to everyone who is open to receive it. If we are experiencing less than total abundance in each and every aspect of our lives, we know we are resisting the natural flow of abundance. We open to abundance by feeling gratitude for all that we presently have.
15. Giving and Receiving
Giving and receiving always occurs in balance. It is important to receive gratefully as it is to give voluntarily, generously, and with no expectations. Our willingness to keep the energy flowing in and out of our lives supports the energy in expanding. The corollary to the principle of giving and receiving is that we give only to ourselves. Since we are all One, when we are giving to another, we are giving to ourselves.
16 Nonattachment and Freedom
Our perceived need to hold on to anything or anyone demonstrates our belief in shortage. Holding on to anything -- people or possessions -- blocks the flow of energy around our experience with the person or object and reduces the joy of the experience. It also inhibits new people and new things from coming into our lives. As we open our hearts and expand our trust in the natural abundance of the Universe, we give ourselves and everyone else the gift of freedom.
17. What We Focus On Expands
We are free to focus our attention wherever we choose. We can focus on what we perceive to be problems, or we can remind ourselves that every circumstance is an opportunity to reclaim the power we have vested in our beliefs. Discomfort in our bodies is a signal that we are resisting the flow of energy, or love. The greater the discomfort, the more we know that we are resisting the giving and receiving of love. When we focus on our pure feelings, unencumbered by beliefs, what expands within and around us is peace, joy and abundance.
18. Expressing Who We Really Are
Each of us has one or more talents we love to express. When we are fully and freely expressing who we really are, we feel joyful and supported. What determines how successful we will be at expressing our talents, is how much love we feel for ourselves. The more love we feel for ourselves, the more we allow the creative energy of the Universe to flow through us. Freely expressing who we are leads us to feel our perfection, so that our perfection expands.
19. Means and Ends
Means and ends are the same. The action and out come are one. To achieve peace, we feel and express our inner peacefulness. To enjoy a life that works perfectly, we see and feel the perfection of everything and everyone, including ourselves. To experience the natural abundance of the Universe, we feel and express gratitude for the abundance all around us.
20. Harmony in Relationships
Every relationship in our lives reflects our relationship with ourselves. Every person we attract is there to support us in opening our hearts and reclaiming our power. When we truly love ourselves and feel the power and perfection that we are, we attract loving, harmonious relationships with others.
21. The Universe Handles the Details
Taking care of the details of our lives is generally considered a rational-mind activity. However, when our rational minds are active, we shut out our Infinite Intelligence, which has the capacity to handle the details in ways that are vastly more supportive of us and everyone else. As we learn to relinquish our rational thinking and surrender to our intuition – our connection to Infinite Intelligence -- we discover how easily, effortlessly and spontaneously events unfold for us.
Mutual Support Groups: http://www.arnoldpatent.com/mutualsupgr.html
Based upon Universal Principles, the Mutual Support Groups provide a safe and nurturing environment in which to practice giving and receiving unconditional love and support, reconnecting with our feelings, and reclaiming our powers. In such an environment we learn to express qualities that lead to truly fulfilling lives, honesty, integrity, trust, surrender, compassion, generosity, humour, playfulness, creativity and open-ness. Mutual Support Groups are founded on Universal Principles which always operate consistently and in the same way in each of our lives. When we live by these principles, we are guided perfectly in enjoying and expressing the love, peace, harmony and abundance that is our natural state.
UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES AS DEFINED BY NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING
The map is not the territory. The world we perceive is not the same as the actual world.
Everyone lives by their own unique and equally valid model of the world.
People always make the best choice available to them, given what they know.
No one is wrong or broken. People work perfectly to accomplish what they are currently accomplishing.
There is a solution (a desirable outcome) to every problem.
People already have all the resources they need to effect a change.
There is a distinction between a person and the behaviors they exhibit. Every behavior is useful in some context.
No response, experience or behaviour is meaningful outside of the context in which it was established or the response it elicits next.
The behavior of a person is not who they are. The intention of all behaviour is always assumed positive.
The meaning of a communication is the response it elicits. The intention behind a communication is not its meaning.
The person with the most flexibility and variation of behavior guides the outcome of the human interactions.
Memory and imagination can have the same impact as actual experiences when a person is fully engaged (associated).
Knowledge, thought, memory, and imagination are the result of sequences and combinations of representational systems.
If someone can do something, anyone can learn it.
Mind and body are part of the same cybernetic structure, so anything occurring in one also affects the other.
If you aren't getting the response you want, do something different.
There is no such thing as failure. There is only feedback.
Change comes from releasing the appropriate resource, or activating the potential resource, for a particular context by enriching a person's map of the world.
"Energy flows where attention goes":
