Enneagram Test for self assesment

By using the Enneagram as a self observation tool, it points out which of the nine strategies you tend to use in approaching life situations. It shows where any imbalance lies and which strategies need  to be reinforced in order to balance the whole nine strategy system. Balancing can be achieved in many ways, such as through counselling or through further self exploration. Don't use it as an identity tool, either for yourself or for others because the personality types are only strategies that need to be balanced. Each person should ne able to naturally use all nine.

Scoring:

In the numbers attached to the statements, the 2nd digit refers to that ego state in the diagram, e.g., 05, 15, and 35 all refer to enneagram state five. Count the number of checks you have made for each ego state in the strong column. Take the highest numbered state and map your numbers on the enneagram inner 3-9-6-3 triangle and on the outer 1-4-2-8-5-7-1 star. If your numbers are in a matching sequence, e.g 428, you have probably identified your point correctly, and the side numbers represent your stress and heart points.

If however, a number is out of sequence, you have several things to consider. There is a tendency to lean to one side or the other of your point on the circle, e.g. some elitist fours have a reclusive quality and are more like Observer Fives; others are more production minded and lean to the Performer Three side. These side positions are called wings. You may have several checks in one of these positions.

Your check list introduces another bit of data – your sub type. Numbers ending with a “0” show the way you tend to use your energy. Items 10, 30 and 50 refer to a survival orientation, Items 20, 40, 60 & 80 refer to a primary partnership focus, and Items 70, 90 and 100 refer to a broader community focus.
